How To Download Guitar Lessons and Fast Track Your Learning in 5 Easy Steps.
Become a Guitar Legend in Your Own Home in Your Own Time – The World Awaits.........
So you’ve got your guitar and you want to get into the good stuff as quickly as you can. You know you
can download guitar lessons online and learn just about anything you want without having to go to an expensive instructor – but you
need an easy and affordable jump start to get you to the level where you can wing the rest of your way to the top..
Just imagine being able to learn the guitar so quickly that you’re the one at the party who can pick up
that guitar that’s leaning against the wall and start wowing all your friends with your fancy picking, fast licks and ability to play their
favourite songs.
Well – read on and that could well be you before you know it as long as you take the right action and most
importantly stick to it. Follow these simple tips and you’ll be on the road to saving money, learning fast and having a blast..
Ready?
- Set yourself
realistic milestones in the form of songs you want to be able to play once you’ve got a hang of the basics – example – “within 2
weeks I aim to be able to play ‘Hotel California’ all the way through flawlessly – within 4 weeks I will be able to play and sing it”
- Focus on one goal
at a time! – This is the biggest rookie mistake, trying to do it all at once. Set a single goal – achieve it then move on to the
next. Once you have a song mastered add it to your practice routine so you don’t forget it or become rusty at it and move on to the next
one.
- Practice every
day – sounds obvious but it’s easier said than done. Set aside time to play every single day even if it’s just for 10-15 minutes.
Long once a week sessions don’t let you develop as quickly as you will if you play every day. At the beginning you need to toughen up
your fingertips and wrist to hold those bar chords – compare it to king fu stretching, what’s more effective – stretching every day or
one big session on the weekend? Commit now to doing it every day and organise a time to fit
it into your schedule.
- Play along to
music – By far the fastest way to master any song and develop jamming technique, timing and a feel for the guitar is to play along.
That song you’re working on? Play along with it, then play it on your own. Learning that pentatonic blues scale? Play along with music.
You can download guitar lessons at the end of this article that actually have custom made jam tracks for each chord and set of chords and
scales you learn – more on that coming up.
- Get inspired –
This is an important one that I do diligently. It can be tedious practicing chords and scales, especially at the beginning when your
fingers hurt and it all seems a bit of an uphill struggle. This is why at the beginning of a practice session I watch a video or listen
to some truly inspiring guitar playing to keep me on track – this is a sure fire way to keep that motivation. Like Jimi Hendrix? Listen
to and preferably watch some Hendrix before you start your session.
I take inspiration from Tommy Emmanuel at the moment and my motivation never wavers – hurting fingers? Pah!
Brian Adams ‘played it till his fingers bled’ and he did OK - that’s motivation!
If you’re gonna go it alone and download guitar lessons instead of use an expensive instructor or set of DVDs
it’s essential that you prepare to succeed, have a strategy to keep at it and always stay
focused and motivated.
