What’s the Best Guitar Lesson Program That Will Get You Strumming Like a Pro Today?

How you can use your computer and some modestly priced software to play like a pro in no time.

"I’ve always been a bit of a cynic – especially when reading those long single page sales letters so my ‘too good to be true – what’s the catch?’ alarm kicked in after reading all the claims and testimonials on the sales pages."
When I went in search of a good guitar lesson program I wasn’t exactly sure of what I should be looking out for. I knew it would have to include videos and lots of tabs and because I pick things up best from actually playing along I was insistent that there should be some jam tracks.

How else the task of teaching the guitar through a piece of software was going to be accomplished I waited to see with keen anticipation. So I shopped around to find that the best guitar lesson programs were quite inexpensive, averaging around $40 – which amounts to about the same as an hour’s tuition with a decent teacher.

So How Does a Guitar Lesson Program Measure Up?

I’ve always been a bit of a cynic – especially when reading those long single page sales letters so my ‘too good to be true – what’s the catch?’ alarm kicked in after reading all the claims and testimonials on the sales pages.

But I didn’t have the time to find an offline teacher and go have weekly lessons – so my burning desire to further my playing technique and do it flexibly and in the comfort of my own home overrode the cynical voice and I threw caution (well $40) to the wind.

For my small investment I was promised around 600 pages of textual material, images, tabs, audio snippets, videos, jam along tracks and some extra bonuses including software metronome, a software guitar tuner, a special game that makes it ‘fun’ to learn to read music and tab and some other stuff – including membership to the forums and access to updates. This was for the beginner through to advanced material- all looking good so far.

And Does It Work?

The package I went with in the end called- Jamorama - has so far delivered what it promised on the sales page and I am not disappointed. I was expecting a bit more on the video side of things but I can only imagine that they have cut down the video content to minimise on download sizes as you get the option to only download the lessons you need as and when needed rather than have to get all the course in one big hit.

The most important part for me in any guitar lesson program is tracks to jam along to which is where Jamorama excels – we are obviously on the same page when it comes to the quickest and easiest way to learn the guitar – especially just using software on your computer.

If you are thinking of using a guitar lesson program to jump start your journey I recommend you have a look at their free 6-part e-course which includes audio and video content so you can get a feel for a guitar lesson program and judge for yourself if it fits your learning style.
